Assessment structure

The qualification is split between three written exams and a controlled assessment.

  • Unit 1 written paper - Local and Global Citizenship (20 percent).
  • Unit 2 written paper - Personal Development (20 percent).

How to study CCEA Learning for Life and Work

The course rewards clear definitions, developed explanation and real examples.

  1. Learn the key terms. Each unit has precise distinctions, such as diversity versus inclusion, a need versus a want, or a right versus a responsibility.
  2. Develop, do not list. Name a point, then explain the difference it makes.
  3. Apply to scenarios. Use realistic examples: a budget, a CV, a workplace right, a community project.
  4. Stay neutral on citizenship. Present communities and institutions even-handedly.
  5. Plan the investigation. For the controlled assessment, research from a range of sources and reach a supported conclusion.
