What is seismic evidence for the layering?Show answer
We cannot drill to the core, so the structure is deduced from seismic waves, which change velocity at boundaries between layers of different density and composition. A sudden change in velocity (and the refraction it causes) marks a boundary.
What is q1?Show answer
State two differences between oceanic and continental crust. [2 marks]
What is q2?Show answer

What is q3?Show answer
State what the Moho is and how it is detected. [2 marks]
